 So, what is gamification?

According to Badgeville.com, gamification is the concept of applying game mechanics and game design techniques to engage and motivate people to achieve their goals. Also, in Yu-kai Chou’s blog, he said that gamification is the craft of deriving all the fun and addicting elements found in games and applying them to real-world or productive activities.

After seeing these two definitions, you kind of have the basic idea of gamiification, but perhaps you are still curious about how these special gaming techniques can attract people. Well, the only thing you have to do is to find your target audience’s needs and wants, and then turn these desires into gaming rewards or achievements. gamificaiton works because it keeps people engaged when they are bored with their jobs or some daily routines.
